"Until we have met the monsters in ourselves we will keep trying to slay them in the outer world. For all darkness in the world stems from darkness in the heart. And it is there we must do our work." - Marianne Williamson
I always find myself a little surprised at how little is known about shadow work, and how even less it is being practiced. So as to try to and help clear up some of the confusion surrounding this beneficial spiritual practice and hopefully turn more onto it,
here are a few common misconceptions about Shadow Work.
I have little doubt that most people have atleast heard the name Ayahuasca, but do you know what it is? Ayahuasca is a powerful spiritual medicine prepared as a drink by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon. It's made from the Banisteriopsis Caapi vine, the Psychotria Viridis Leaf, and Chagropanga. It's praised and known for its very strong hallucinatory effects, and psychedelic experiences that surpass anything known to the western world, producing a truly profound spiritual and life changing experience.
Across the gently rolling hills,
Beyond high mountain peaks,
Along the shores of distant seas,
Theres something my heart seeks.
But theres no peace in wandering,
The roads not made for rest.
And footsore fools will never know
What home might suit them best.
But, oh, the things that I have seen,
The secret paths Ive trod,
The hidden corners of the world
Known to none but me and God.
Yes, the world was meant for knowing,
And feet were meant to roam.
But who's always going
Will never find a home.
Oh, where's the thread that binds me,
The voice that calls me back?
Wheres the love that finds me-
And whats the root I lack?
My heart seeks the hearth,
My feet seek the road.
A soul divided
Is a terrible load.
My heart longs to rest,
My feet yearns to roam.
Shall I wander the world
Or stay safe at home?
