Once a month, half the adult population of the world who aren't pregnant or menopausal lose blood. In ancient times it was noticed that a woman's monthly flow was the only time along with childbirth that blood was shed without wounding, and thus it was regarded as special .
Menstrual blood is presently used for heavily influencing (read: controlling) others in the matters of the heart and love. The practice of having another somehow ingest your menstrual blood (most likely without their knowledge. I.e. adding it to their coffee) is said to grant you control over that person and cause the person to love, or perhaps just sexually desire you, for the rest of their lives. The same is also said about other bodily fluids of the sexual variety, but none are thought to be as strong or as compelling as the blood from a menstruating woman.
The Pagan religions of the old world all recognized and celebrated the divine significance of menstrual blood and utilized it regularly in their worship of the Goddess. In the ancient Tower of Babel (which was actually called Etemenanki by the Babylonians which translates to 'House of the foundation of Heaven and Earth' and destroyed by the Assyrian army led by Sennacherib, only to be rebuilt by Nabopolassar and made infamous in the Bible) is where menstruating Priestesses, being filled with the spirit of the great Mother Goddess, would lay sprawled on the altars, legs spread, allowing anyone and everyone to drink of the sacred 'drink of immortality'.
Even all those years ago, the ancient civilizations and Goddess cults where on to something. In present day biological science studies are revealing the incredible health benefits of menstrual blood and the significant amount of stem cells contained therein.
The Goddess gifted 'blood of life' was unceremoniously (and unsurprisingly) stripped away from the Sacred Feminine and instead used as an analogy for the blood of Christ some 2000 years ago - however maintaining the belief of eternal life and divine power within it.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood shall have eternal life, and I will surely raise them up again.
The knowledge of the incredible power of menstrual blood, known to all the ancient people, has somehow been lost and forgotten in our modern world. Even now, with knowledge of the benefits and uses of menstrual blood resurfacing, women are giving away this sacred nectar to the patriarchal ideologies and scientific studies. I think it's time to rediscover and reclaim or birth rights of the life that flows from our wombs and use it for the betterment of ourselves, in service of the Goddess, and to spark a little magic. Powerful magic.
STAY BLOODY MY FRIENDS
